Surf Club On The Sound sits along the waterfront in New Rochelle, New York. For a Christian Indian wedding, it gave Sherin and Blesson exactly what they needed. A venue that photographs with natural elegance, has enough room for a full celebration, and a setting that feels right. Blesson flew in from Texas. The day moved the way a well-planned wedding moves — on its own.
Sherin and Blesson are both Christian Indians. Their wedding carried that identity fully — Kerala traditions, Christian ceremony, and the warmth of a community that knows how to celebrate. That showed up in every part of the day. From the getting-ready photographs to the live band that kept the reception floor full all night, it was all there.

ToggleSherin got ready at her parents’ house, surrounded by family and close friends. Her white Pronovias gown from The Vow salon — lace and silk, the kind of dress that reads immediately in photographs — came together in that space. The energy in the room was warm and focused, the morning building quietly before everything opened up.
Blesson got ready at his hotel. By the time both of them were dressed and on their way to the venue, the morning had already accumulated enough to document. That’s what getting ready photographs are for — not the transformation itself, but what’s underneath it.

We used the waterfront for the first look, though the afternoon sun was working against us by that point. Strong, direct, the kind of light that forces decisions. So we worked with it rather than around it, finding the angles that turned that intensity into something usable. Sherin and Blesson were present with each other regardless of what the light was doing, which is ultimately what makes a first look work.
After the first look, we moved inside, and the rest of the portrait session had a different quality — softer, more controlled, the venue’s interior giving us what the waterfront couldn’t

The ceremony took place inside Surf Club On The Sound — a Christian ceremony rooted in Kerala tradition. Prayers anchored every part of it. That’s the quality of a Kerala Christian wedding that photographs differently from other ceremonies — the pauses, the reverence, the room going quiet together in a way that isn’t choreographed. Sherin and Blesson moved through each prayer together, present in each moment.
The florals by Columbia Florists framed the altar cleanly. Moreover, the intimacy of the ceremony space meant the guests were close, and the weight of what was being witnessed was visible in the room. A community praying together over two people they love — that shows up in photographs in ways that are hard to manufacture.

The room was full. That’s the first thing worth saying about the reception at Surf Club On The Sound — it was a complete celebration, a full crowd of people who had shown up entirely for Sherin and Blesson. Skyline Orchestras — Rhapsody Band provided the music, and the live band made the difference. There’s an energy a live band produces that a DJ simply doesn’t — the room responds differently, the dancing starts earlier, the whole evening has a different weight.
George & Co. and Glass Slipper & Co. coordinated the day, and it showed. The transitions between ceremony and reception, the timing, the details — everything moved without friction. As a result, Sherin and Blesson got to be present in their own wedding rather than managing it. That’s what good coordination does, and that’s what the photographs from that evening carry.
