TogglePreeti and Pinder’s Lehigh Valley Indian engagement ceremony took place in a backyard in Easton, Pennsylvania. Not a venue — a home. A space that belonged to the people celebrating in it. The green and pink palette ran through everything: the florals, the decor, the outfits. Furthermore, the Lehigh Valley summer light came through the trees and did exactly what you hope it will when you’re working outdoors.
If you know Preeti and Pinder from their Center City Philadelphia engagement session, this day was a different kind of documentation. Less city, more ceremony. The same couple, a new chapter unfolding around them.

Preeti wore a pink and green lehenga — intricate gold embroidery running through the fabric, the colors tied directly to the day’s palette. The henna on her hands was already deep and detailed. Everything about her look was considered and specific to this celebration.
Pinder dressed in a suit that complemented the chosen colors, traditional and modern at the same time. Together, they were a good match in front of the camera — unhurried, easy with each other, present before the day had fully started.

The backyard had been transformed. A canopy of green foliage and pink blossoms framed the space. Traditional Indian motifs and mandalas ran through the decor. Cascading florals from Salma Events hung at every corner. The tent and lighting from K&J Party Rentals turned a familiar outdoor space into something that felt entirely new.
When Preeti and Pinder had their first look, the garden held its breath. He turned. She was already herself — composed, unhurried, completely present. The green and pink surrounding them made everything feel intentional. As a result, the photographs from that moment needed very little.

After the first look, the family gathered for the roka. It’s a quiet ritual in the middle of what is otherwise a celebratory day — prayers offered first, then the gifting of jewelry to Pinder from Preeti’s family, then the feeding of sweets. Each gesture a formal welcome. Each one saying something specific: you belong to us now, and we are glad.
The backyard held it well. A ceremony like this doesn’t need much space — it needs the right people close together, paying attention. That’s exactly what this one had. Furthermore, the intimacy of the setting made every gesture land with the weight it deserved. By the time the sweets were offered, the room had already settled into something deeper than celebration.

The music started, and the floor filled quickly. DJ Bhupi kept the evening moving — traditional Indian rhythms alongside modern beats, the kind of playlist that works for every generation in the room. Preeti and Pinder led the way. The people around them followed easily.
There’s a particular energy to dancing at a Lehigh Valley Indian engagement held outdoors. The tent contained the sound just enough. The light from K&J Party Rentals gave everything a warm, considered quality. Furthermore, the combination of music, movement, and family in one space gave the evening its own rhythm that carried through to the end.

Cakes as Canvas built a cake that matched the day — green floral details, intricate and clean, completely in keeping with the palette. The cake cutting brought everyone in close. Preeti and Pinder cut it together, the room gathered around them. It was one of those moments that closes a section of the evening and opens another.
Additionally, the desserts carried through the same attention to detail as everything else. When every element of a celebration speaks the same language, the day holds together.
