Anna and Joe are high school sweethearts — ninth grade, to be exact. Seven years later, they chose North Wildwood, New Jersey, for their engagement session. The beach was the obvious choice. Joe loves the ocean and fishes whenever he can. Anna has a heart for it, too. For a couple who finds peace by the water, Morey’s Pier and the Wildwood shoreline made perfect sense.
The light that afternoon was exactly what a beach session needs — warm, directional, the kind that comes off the water in the last hours before sunset. They moved through it easily. High school sweethearts tend to have a shorthand that shows up in photographs without any effort, and Anna and Joe had it in full.

Toggle“What I love about Joey is that he not only goes out of his way to make me happy but that I can be myself around him, and we make a good team together. He always puts me first and he is really affectionate.”

Beach Session
“My fiancé proposed to me by taking me out to Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Center City, and later brought me to LOVE Park where he proposed to me in front of everyone. It was one of the best moments in my life.”

“The inspiration I had in mind for the engagement photos is something Joey and I enjoyed. We both figured the beach would be perfect since he loves the ocean and loves to go fishing and I have a heart for the ocean. Being on the beach is something that always made both of us feel at peace.” The backdrop of the beach made for this session to have gorgeous colors and hues.

“Joey and I recently started wedding planning and it’s been a great experience. We seen a few venues that we loved and it’s so difficult to choose since all of them are beautiful in their way.”

Anna and Joe were easy to document from the first frame. The Wildwood shoreline gave us everything — open space, warm light, Morey’s Pier as a visual anchor in the background. Because they were relaxed and genuinely themselves, the session moved at its own pace. That’s what you want from a North Wildwood beach engagement session. The location does the work, and the couple just has to show up. They did.
Anna shared this after the session: “Working with Maria for our engagement pictures was nothing but amazing. She was very professional and reliable answering my emails with my questions and concerns and also during the shoot. Joey and I didn’t have to carry anything because she truly wanted us to take in the experience and enjoy our shoot. She was very down-to-earth and very easy to talk to. The whole experience was amazing.”
